Methlick Cricket Club

On behalf of our President, Lady Aberdeen, and the members and players of Methlick CC, welcome to the start of another season of cricket in Methlick.

The cricket season generally starts at the end of April and finishes in September.  The bulk of the season comprises league and cup games but there are also friendlies at the start and the end of the season.

We have two senior teams which compete in the North East Scotland Cricket leagues (formerly known as Aberdeenshire Cricket Association).  The Association has been on the go since 1884 and provides opportunities to play in some of the best places on Aberdeenshire including Balmoral Castle (Crathie cricket club), Stonehaven, Fraserburgh, Huntly, Aberdeen and lots of other places.

We also have an active Junior section.

We pride ourselves in being a welcoming club, a club that is proud to have such an excellent ground in the middle of the lovely and vibrant village of Methlick.  We welcome players of all abilities.

We also welcome supporters who can enjoy a great game and perhaps a walk along the Ythan river which runs adjacent to our ground (affectionately known as Lairds).  We would be grateful if you could hand back any cricket balls you find near the river though.

Refreshments are normally partaken after each home game in the Ythan View Hotel which provides an opportunity to debate and review every decision made during the game even if “recollections might differ” on some points.

Practice takes place at 6 pm on Wednesdays.

If anybody wants further information on the club and what we do please contact me on 07970 686596 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or speak to Jay at the Ythan View.

We look forward to a great year ahead and welcome anyone that wants to be involved in the friendliest club in the Shires.  Games normally start at 1pm and finish late afternoon – come along and say hello.

Best wishes

Alasdair
