Methlick Cricket Club
On behalf of our President, Lady Aberdeen, and the members and players of Methlick CC, welcome to the start of another season of cricket in Methlick.
The cricket season generally starts at the end of April and finishes in September. The bulk of the season comprises league and cup games but there are also friendlies at the start and the end of the season.
We have two senior teams which compete in the North East Scotland Cricket leagues (formerly known as Aberdeenshire Cricket Association). The Association has been on the go since 1884 and provides opportunities to play in some of the best places on Aberdeenshire including Balmoral Castle (Crathie cricket club), Stonehaven, Fraserburgh, Huntly, Aberdeen and lots of other places.
We also have an active Junior section.
We pride ourselves in being a welcoming club, a club that is proud to have such an excellent ground in the middle of the lovely and vibrant village of Methlick. We welcome players of all abilities.
We also welcome supporters who can enjoy a great game and perhaps a walk along the Ythan river which runs adjacent to our ground (affectionately known as Lairds). We would be grateful if you could hand back any cricket balls you find near the river though.
Refreshments are normally partaken after each home game in the Ythan View Hotel which provides an opportunity to debate and review every decision made during the game even if “recollections might differ” on some points.
Practice takes place at 6 pm on Wednesdays.
If anybody wants further information on the club and what we do please contact me on 07970 686596 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or speak to Jay at the Ythan View.
We look forward to a great year ahead and welcome anyone that wants to be involved in the friendliest club in the Shires. Games normally start at 1pm and finish late afternoon – come along and say hello.
Best wishes
Alasdair

Welcome to Methlick Cricket Club for the 2026 season.

The Methlick Cricket Club welcomes all to our club.
Our website will be updated with the list of games for the 1XI and the 2XI teams for 2026. This year finds our two teams in Grade 3 and Grade 4. A considerable amount of hard work has gone into preparing our ground "Lairds" for the new season, along with a new mower for the outfield, which has proven to be a good improvement for games played, and along with the well carefully prepared wicket, will be worthwhile for the games at home.
Situated in Methlick in the county of Aberdeenshire, our ground is one of the most picturesque grounds in the Aberdeenshire Grade's Association (ACA). More details on our ground can be found in "About Us".
We strive to provide the highest possible standard of facilities to players and spectators of all ages and abilities, to play and watch the game, without bias and discrimination.
Currently, we have two teams that compete on Saturdays and Sundays, the latter for league and cup games, in the Aberdeenshire Cricket Association at Grade 3 & 4 respectively.
We are always looking for new members, and especially juniors. Our training times are Wednesdays' evenings at 18:30 for seniors and Sunday mornings at 11:00 AM for our junior members. We have registration in place for new junior members. Queries to our Youth Membership: Playing and Non-Playing contact below.
